This college preparation course is designed to help the student understand the interrelationship of the living world. It introduces the biological definitions of the five kingdoms, two important phyla will be examined, and taxonomy classifications will be explained and used. This course will look at the recent discoveries and the ethical debates in scientific research and genetics. We will investigate what life is and when and where it originated. Differing views of evolution will be taught, heavily emphasizing how faith in Christ affects worldview. The chemistry of life, the way that information and nutrients are passed through the body from one system to another will be thoroughly examined through atoms, molecules, chemical change, photosynthesis, enzymes, and DNA.
